In 2019, Equis pivoted to focus solely on developed markets in Asia-Pacific countries (currently Australia, Japan and South Korea) to develop projects in renewable energy, biomass and waste infrastructure sectors. Equis currently employs over 100 investment, engineering, procurement, construction and operational professionals across its Asia Pacific offices in Australia, Seoul, Singapore, and Tokyo.Equis continues to rapidly grow its platform and our Korea Legal Team is expanding. We are hiring high-calibre professionals to join our Legal team based in Seoul.  Title Legal Counsel Responsibilities • Become a part of Equis’ Global Legal Team, primarily working with the Korea Legal Team based in Korea and Group General Counsel based in Singapore;• Handling legal and regulatory compliance matters and providing day-to-day guidance, advice and support to all company employees in Korea office on a wide range of compliance issues (including implementing internal compliance policies and procedures);• Working closely with the investment team in relation to third party due diligence and risk management and maintaining compliance records;• Drafting, negotiating and reviewing a wide range of acquisition and project documents (e.g. SPA, LPA, EPC contract, O&M contract and financing documents, etc.) and other commercial contracts in conjunction with the investment team for Equis’ principal investments in various sectors with a focus on renewable energy development projects (e.g. Solar and Wind) and waste infrastructure development projects;• Providing legal support to different business units in Korea office including contract review (e.g non-disclosure agreements, services agreements, engagement letters and various commercial agreements);• Liaising with external counsels in relation to review of acquisition and project documents, corporate governance and general Korean corporate law matters – e.g. incorporating, maintaining, restructuring of Equis’ Korean entities;• Legal due diligence in relation to pipeline deals, potential M&A, internal restructuring of assets, etc.;• Assistance in any potential and/or on-going dispute resolution process;• Legal research;• Review, standardisation, maintaining company templates of legal documents; and• General assistance to Senior Lawyers and Group General Counsel Requirements • Qualified in Korea or in common law jurisdictions (e.g. US, UK, Australia);• 3 to 5 years PQE within a private practice or an in-house environment (or combination of both) dealing with commercial or transactional matters.
