Job Description Job TitleLegal CounselDepartmentGlobal Legal GroupJob PositionForeign Legal CounselCompanySamsung Biologics is one of Korea’s top biotechnology companies and a global biopharmaceutical leader.  Samsung Biologics is an award-winning partner of choice and provides seamless offerings from development and manufacturing to laboratory testing services at every stage for biopharmaceutical products while meeting the evolving needs of the global healthcare industry. Job SummaryThis position offers a unique opportunity for an experienced mid-level lawyer to become a core member of the Global Legal Group in a dynamic and global work environment.  The Legal Counsel will be based in our Songdo, Incheon Head Quarters and will handle various legal and compliance related matters. Key Responsibilities ·      Contract negotiation and review: Lead major contract negotiation for Samsung Biologics’ business unit including high value commercial development and manufacturing contracts, as well as ancillary agreements important for day-to-day operations. The ability to negotiate and draft in English is a must. Major clients include globally recognized biopharmaceutical companies;·      Dispute resolution: Actively lead fact-finding and resolution of disputes with clients, business parties and third parties, including matters involving arbitration or litigation. Provide critical thinking, working with our internal clients and outside counsel as necessary;·      Legal and business advice: Provide timely and practical advice and solutions to business teams on all types of legal and business issues related to corporate law, regulatory issues, IP, licensing, M&A, joint ventures, etc. Work closely with external counsel as necessary; and·      Actively participate in the development and support of business/legal strategies and effective implementation of company initiatives and goals. Qualifications Education·      Law Degree and Bar Admission in the US, UK, or other major English-speaking countries; and  ·      Preferred (but not required) background: experience in biology / chemistry / pharmaceuticals. RequiredExperiences / Skills·      Between 4-8 years of experience as a licensed lawyer in a law firm and/or corporation;·      Clear and persuasive communication, negotiation, and drafting ability;·      An interest in biopharma / biotechnology and ability to work in a constantly evolving environment;·      High proficiency in English and Korean; and·      A team player demonstrating willingness and ability to learn and work collaboratively. Knowledge/ Status ·      A reasonable level of knowledge of the biopharmaceutical industry is expected.·      Applicant must have completed military service or be exempted from duty, and must be qualified for overseas trips.How to ApplyApplications will be considered on a rolling basis, so interested applicants are encouraged to apply without delay. How to Apply :     - Submit your resume (Korean or English) to recruit.bio2@samsung.com    - Find out more about Samsung Biologics (https://samsungbiologics.com/careers/people)
